JOHN PIZZARELLI
with special guest Aaron Weinstein
Friday, March 6, 2009
8 PM
Perennial BIG ARTS favorite, John Pizzarelli has had a multi-faceted career as a jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader. Internationally known for classic standards, late-night ballads, cool jazz flavor and the humor he brings to his performances. He not only knows how to sing, but he knows all about the songs he sings and, in many cases, the people who wrote them and his anecdotes make his songs that much more approachable.
John’s guest and fellow recording artist on their collaborative CD Blue Too, Aaron Weinstein, was a 2007 Grammy nominee and named a “rising star violinist” by Downbeat Magazine. Weinstein returns to the BIG Arts stage with a reputation as one of the finest jazz violinists of his generation.

Both Pizzareilli and Weinstein are stellar musicians for whom swinging is as natural as breathing. “We're creating new ideas,” said John. “That's what's so beautiful about interpretation. This music, it's not about age as much as it is about style.”
