Historian and best-selling author, Douglas Brinkley, is the history commentator for CBS News and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair. In The Wilderness Warrior, Brinkley tells the story of our "naturalist president," who worked to preserve more than 230 million acres of wild America, and made conservation a universal endeavor. Professor of history at Rice University and former Roosevelt scholar at Tulane, six of his books have been selected as New York Times Notable Books of the Year.

Dr. Paul Cherukuri studies the control of matter at the atomic or molecular level (nanotechnology); he will explain how it is changing the way researchers think of medical treament. As the lead research scientist on the Kanzius project at MD Anderson, he will discuss how nanotechnology, used with radio waves, can be used to treat cancer. Studying under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Richard Smalley gives him a unique perspective on this leading-edge technology.
